What are Equivalent Lumens?
What are Equivalent Lumens?
This is used to compare LEDs to incandescent, metal halide, and fluorescent lighting. LED's are directional and have almost no wasted light, which is called "light loss". Our LED technology puts the light where you want it - on the floor and work plane. Old technology such as metal halides & fluorescent can have more than 50% lighting loss (out &up) because they are non-directional 360 degrees of light. Example:10,000 LED Lumens = approx. 19,000 Fluorescent Lumens. In short, LEDs are brighter and much more efficient!
What is Lumen Depreciation?
What is Lumen Depreciation?
Our LEDs are rated, at minimum to still be above 70% light output after 50,000 hours (almost 25 years running 40 hours / week). Fluorescents take approx. 12-18 months to reach 60% output, while Metal Halides around 6-8 months. LEDs not only use much less energy, they keep their brightness over 20 years longer.
